Adam Quayle
Artistic Director and Co-Founder
Adam trained as a director at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.  For Box of Tricks, he has directed Word:Play (Union Theatre); A Hole in the Fence, Streetlights and Shadows (Time Out Critics' Choice: Show of the Week) and Beyond Omarska (White Bear). Previous directing credits also include Anything of Worth (Pleasance & Bridewell); Homeland (Theatre 503); Underground Resistance (Hen & Chickens); and Among Unbroken Hearts (Cockpit).  His assistant director credits include Translations (Best Production, MEN Awards 2003) and The Ghosts of Scrooge for Roger Haines at the Library Theatre, Manchester.  Adam was a finalist for Channel 4 Theatre Directors' Scheme, 2007-08.  He is drama tutor and director for King's House School (Richmond) and a member of the Young Vic Genesis Directors’ Project.
Hannah Tyrrell-Pinder
Artistic Director and Co-Founder
Hannah trained as a director at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Directing credits for Box of Tricks include Word:Play (Union Theatre); A Hole in the Fence and Rural (White Bear); Frank Pig Says Hello (Barons Court); and Rural (Lost One Act Festival, Courtyard Theatre).  Other directing includes Repeat (The George Tavern) Wheel of Fortune (Tristan Bates) and The Lonesome West (Cockpit). Assisting credits include Godspell (BAC) and True West (Menier Chocolate Factory and Edinburgh Assembly Rooms).  She is a drama tutor for Montage Theatre Arts, a script reader for Theatre 503 and a member of the Young Vic Genesis Directors' Project.
Kenneth Emson
Associate Artist (Literary and Education)
Kenny graduated from the Goldsmith’s Writing for Performance MA in 2005. Since then, three of his plays have been performed on the London Fringe: Rural (White Bear), De Sade’s Tree (Baron’s Court), and Stiff Acrylic (Hen and Chickens). His play Rural was read at The Hotink Festival in New York in January, and his play Three Nights was staged at The Baxter’s Theatre in South Africa as part of the Ikwhezi Festival in March.  In July, his new play, Invisible Mice, will premiere at The Hotbed Festival in Cambridge. He was one of the seven writers for the Old Vic New Voices 24 Hour Play event in March. He has received Arts Council East funding for the final play in his Town/Country Trilogy, Collapsing Colonies, which he is developing through workshops in Essex, culminating in a rehearsed reading at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester. He is a member of The Royal Court Young Writers’ Programme and The Old Vic New Voices Club.
Chris James
Associate Artist (Technical)
Originally from South Africa, Chris attended Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and graduated in 2005. Recent sound designs include The Servant of Two Masters (Wales Theatre Company), Fragile! (Cherub Company), A Hole In The Fence (Box of Tricks), Storkbite and Proper Lunch (Zoo Theatre), Company (Chelsea Theatre), The House of Bernarda Alba (New Players Theatre), The Accrington Pals (Pleasance Theatre), Nunsense (St. Peters Church), Rural (Box of Tricks) and Beyond Omarska (Box of Tricks).Other sound work includes: West Side Story (Aberystwyth Arts Centre), Kean (National tour and West End), associate sound designer for The Bargain (National tour), A Christmas Carol and A Child's Christmas in Wales (Both for Wales Theatre Company), Smaller (National Tour and West End).
