1. If you were lost at sea with only one song, what would you choose?

Ralph Vaughn Willams – Fantasia On A Theme Of Thomas Tallis.

I saw it live once and it made me cry. This absolute masterpiece reminds me of what love, hope and courage feel like. My heart actually squeezes when I listen to it… its also long and detailed. It would take an age to get boring.

2. You take one photograph to pin up next to your bunk, what would it be?

These goonies… in this house. This photo was taken from my shed. If I could sum up home it would be this. This, or my Dad’s Christmas dinner and Mum’s cakes, but the photos of those would be endless.

3. You have a copy of one poem to see you through the storms, what would it be?

‘If’ by Rudyard Kipling. My Nan was an absolute pillar of strength. She used to have this in a frame hanging in her bathroom and it was her husband’s favourite. He died suddenly at 42, an officer in the Royal Signals. It’s a real favourite with my whole family and we recite it a lot when times are tough. I’d want my Nan’s unwavering courage to see me through! This is my Granddad’s book of Kipling that he borrowed from the Library… indefinitely.
